The club organises weekly competitions for weekend golfers. Competitors submit their cards and their scores are duly recorded and their handicaps calculated. Though the season, Grand Prix and Eclectic prizes are competed for and teams are entered for county competitions at all levels. Mid-week golfers also meet for regular competition and take part in county competitions as well as friendly matches against other clubs. As a club affiliated to Council of National Golf Unions (CONGU) members’ handicaps are recognised throughout Britain and stored on a national database. A valid handicap means that you are entitled to compete at whichever level is appropriate for you.
The club offers three membership categories:
Full membership entitles golfers to access to the course for seven days a week as well as full social membership.
Five-day membership entitles senior golfers to full access to the course from Monday to Friday (but not Bank Holidays). Since weekend competitions include Friday play this does allow access to the weekend competitions. Social membership is also included.
Social membership is taken out by those who wish to take part in the club’s social activities but who don’t want to play golf.
Chingford Golf Club is a club for male golfers. However, we do have female social members and we do have close ties with our “sister” club, Chingford Ladies Golf Club.
